I offer a safe, supportive, confidential space in which you can speak freely and explore what is happening for you without being judged. My aim is that within the counselling relationship you will experience empathy, openness and acceptance which can help you discover the strengths and inner resources you need to manage life’s difficulties and challenges.

My counselling practice provides a comfortable, private space based in the south side of Glasgow. It is conveniently situated for public transport with on-site parking. If you are unable to meet me in my practice, I can offer sessions by telephone or Skype. I am also a certified supervisor.

I have a wide range of experience including working in Medical Centres, GP Practices, a Holistic Health Centre, an Employee Assistance Programme and as a bereavement counsellor with Cruse Bereavement. I have been a hospice counsellor for 6 years supporting families, children and young people, carers and patients. My current work is with a charitable organisation which supports people who have experienced sexual abuse and rape. Prior to working as a counsellor, I was a Primary Teacher, Montessori Teacher and Staff Trainer in both UK and international schools.

I offer a free initial telephone consultation to discuss what you would be looking for in counselling.

I enjoy helping clients to grow and develop. I firmly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship to help. Being a counsellor is much more than a job to me. I see it as a calling, which I enjoy greatly.

I have benefitted personally from therapy, at various points in my own life. So I have walked the walk as they say. In fact, I believe that it has been my experience as a client, which has contributed more to my development as a counselllor, than any courses or training I have attended.

I started volunteering as a counsellor with Cruse Bereavement Care in Glasgow in 2003, and have volunteered in various other agencies. In addition to this, I have worked in a paid capacity as a counsellor for organisations such as Diabetes UK Scotland, several Employee Assistance Companies, and GP surgeries.

I have been running my own private counselling practice since 2008.

Im based at my home in Mortonhall where I have a dedicated counselling room; weekly, on Tuesdays , Meadowbank Terr. Both are first floor flats.
Beginning with Primary care & Incest Survivors, then EAPs, Private Individuals,i have counselled & supervised a range of practitioners including counselling students & folk from the 'caring professions' who wanted independent consultation outwith line management systems. I have trained in Primal Integration & Pre & Perinatal Dynamics. Most recently I have supported my father who has Alzheimers & facilitated Interpersonal Learning Groups on Edinburgh University's Dialogue Diploma.I tend to be quite direct, active & spontaneous;i have particular interest in the 'present moment'of our relationship & the way our bodies help us know ourselves.
