Practice

Details
I believe and have witnessed first-hand how counselling can help us to understand and process difficult feelings, survive and move on from painful life situations and past-hurts, build our sense of self-worth and help us accept and value ourselves.

I'm a person-centred counsellor with 16 years of NHS counselling experience and have worked more generally in the health field for 29 years. In my private practice I work with a wide range of issues linked to relationships, family, supporting young people, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress, illness, loss and bereavement, sexual health and sexuality, sexual abuse and assault, and workplace issues, to name a few. Please ask if you are looking for support with any other issue

As an NHS counsellor I specialise in sexuality, gender and sexual health.

I also have experience of working with students within a university counselling service, with carers within a carers support project and within a school setting. I have a depth of experience in working with all genders including working with young people and older adults.

Please contact me if you have any questions or would like more information about my practice. Currently offering online and telephone counselling.

'When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for. The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another.' - Carl R. Rogers

Thanks,
Colin
