Advertising Charges – PCTS Website Notices and Events

All activities and services advertised on the Person-Centred Therapy Scotland website (e.g. via ‘Notices’ or ‘Events’) must be related to and consistent with the objects and values of the organisation.

Notices which do not promote commercial income-generating activities, and those which are of benefit to members, may be posted free.

Chargeable Notices:

A commercial income-generating activity is one where a fee is charged which could produce a surplus over the organisers’ out-of-pocket expenses. An activity organised so that participants simply share-out-of pocket expenses (e.g. room rental costs, catering costs) is not regarded as an income-generating activity.

For an event or announcement posted on the website which relates to a commercial income generating activity, there will generally be an advertising charge. This will apply to members and non-members alike. The charge for placing an advertisement or notice is reviewed from time to time by the Coordinating Group.

The charge is presently £50.

If you are organising an event, and want advice on whether you would have to pay to advertise on the PCTS website, please contact either the Secretary (secretary@pctscotland.co.uk) or the Treasurer (treasurer@pctscotland.co.uk).

When a chargeable notice is posted on the website, the person or organisation posting the notice must give the Treasurer (treasurer@pctscotland.co.uk) the name and contact details of the person to whom an invoice can be sent.

 Notice and Advertisement Checklist:
  1. Is your event or service free to participants?
  2. If your event or service is not free, are you asking participants to contribute only your bare, identifiable, out-of-pocket expenses?
  3. Has either the Secretary (secretary@pctscotland.co.uk) or the Treasurer (treasurer@pctscotland.co.uk) of PCTS agreed that, because of the nature of your event, you do not have to pay to advertise it on the PCTS website?

‘Yes’ to any of these means that you do not have to pay to place your advertisement or notice.
