Heidi Wilke - Person-centred counselling, supervision and consultancy

  • Glasgow

I offer counselling because I believe in its benefits and I find working with people inspiring. That inspiration comes from my learning about the human spirit, which I know has the capacity to grow in strength, brightness and in any direction it chooses given the right circumstances.

I qualified as a counsellor in 2012 from Strathclyde University and since then have gained experience working with children, young people and adults in various schools, colleges and charities across Glasgow. I currently run my private practice from a room in Thornliebank, East Renfrewshire and offer online and telephone counselling. In addition to this, I work for part of the week in two primary schools running a small counselling project and offering one-to-one therapy to children under 12. As such, I can also offer private counselling to children under 12 following a play therapy model.

I am also a qualified supervisor and have space to take on new supervisees. As I have vast experience of working therapeutically with primary-aged children, I would be able to provide appropriate supervision to counsellors who work with children.

Specialising in Counselling, Supervision, Students, Young people, Relationships, Bereavement, Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, Stress, Abuse, Consultancy, Coaching
And also children's counselling following a play therapy model, LGBTIQ

Interests
I have a particular interest in how our childhood relationships and experiences shape how we are in the world as adults and am also struck with the power of narrative and how we use it to frame and make sense of our lives. Over recent years I have developed an interest in learning more about the experiences of both parents/care givers and children going through the family/civil courts and am aware this is an area where counselling can help.
