What don't we talk about when we talk about power? With Barbara Malinen

The Spark, 100 Wellington Street, Glasgow G2 6DH | Organised by PCT Scotland | Wheelchair accessible
£50 for members of PCT Scotland; £20 for counselling trainees; £70 for non-members

A workshop reflecting on how the PCA informs and affects how we think of our own power as practitioners, trainers and in a relationship. There will be an opportunity to examine why we talk so little about the struggle involved in being with clients and supervisees, and also to reflect on the impact - on our use and misuse - of power - of our 'imprints' carried from childhood and life experience.

Barbara Malinen is a person-centred counsellor, supervisor, trainer and occasional mediator based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is a member of the Co-ordinating Group of PCT Scotland and of the Scottish Training Group - a group of independent counsellors exploring how to develop a different approach to PCA training in Scotland; one which attempts to hold the complex issues of power and difference at its heart.

This is the third of this year's PCT Scotland workshops continuing the theme of the Person-centred Approach in Action. All of the events will be held at The Spark, 100 Wellington Street Glasgow G2 6DH. It is a dedicated training space close to both Central and Queen street stations giving easy access to public transport.
