Ethics in the Mental Health Care Professions
PCE Europe in cooperation with The Danish Society for Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy (DSPOP) is offering a three-day seminar on Ethics in the Mental Health Care Professions. We warmly invite you to take part.
About the Seminar
This seminar will help you develop a deeper understanding of ethics and how it shapes the quality of your clinical practice. Ethics is a skill that can be cultivated — and this seminar aims to equip you to better avoid or resolve ethical issues, and, where that isn't possible, to know how to seek support.
We will use PCE Europe's basic Ethics Framework as a starting point for discussion. As mental health professionals, we work closely with people, and our primary instrument is the relationship itself, along with the setting we create around it. Beyond any method or standard, that relationship is governed by ethics — by the question philosopher T.M. Scanlon posed: what do we owe to each other?
What to expect:
- What ethics is, and how it differs from related concepts
- Its connection to mental health practice
- The basic ethical principles that shape the therapeutic setting
- How to examine an ethical issue and reach an ethical decision
Who can participate
Any mental health practitioner from Europe or internationally — psychologists, psychiatrists, psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, nurses, and others.
