Feedback from the Person Centred Encounter Group in Edinburgh April 11th 2026

It was a good day. I felt the group went well and the venue was good. It is always lovely to see new people trying encounter out. There was obviously an appetite for some outline of 'how this works'.

I don't feel as though I can offer anything constructive at this point in terms of feedback other than to say that I enrolled on the day in order to be both challenged and stimulated and it offered all of that. Dates allowing, I am keen to engage in further days. I also particularly enjoyed the meeting and reconnecting with other practitioners during the breaks - that was less challenging!

As someone new to encounter groups, I found the day a useful introduction. It was meaningful to have space to track my process in a group in real time. In some ways, it felt like a steep learning curve, and I think there is a lot for me to reflect on. I felt I encountered myself, but maybe not others so much. I'll be keen to try again.

The encounter group experience was utterly fascinating and hugely challenging.
The group at first offers tepid explorations, as people dip their toes into the seas of theirs and others unconscious. Sending out quiet cries for recognition, like bottles adrift containing notes written in cryptic tongue. Emotions bristling underneath placid facades and professional demeanour.
Invitations to disruption of the carefully conditioned players we strut the stage of society with. Primary questions hang damp in the air.
Who are we? What is going on? Where is this going? And most importantly Why?
You will leave with more interesting questions than the ones you entered with, and with a taste for more.

As it was my first encounter with a group outside of training I thought it was a very rich experience and I will look forward to attending more in the future
