I am a Person Centred Counsellor and Supervisor. I have been a Counsellor for 11 years. I’m from Edinburgh I work in private practise and I’m a warm, passionate and friendly person I am used to working with lots of different people and I tend to make connections quickly. I have worked for over 5 years in a Student Counselling Service. Alongside counselling, I have worked in charities in the social care sector for more than ten years.
I have a range of experience but have an interest in working with anxiety, depression and OCD. I also have a lot of experience working with people who live with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
I became a Counsellor because therapy has helped me a lot in my life by enabling me to anchor my emotions, take control of my anxiety and giving me the space to rummage through my thoughts.
My approach:
I aim to provide a safe space where you can bring any issue in your life. I’m a visual person so I use visualisation, metaphor to enable me to communicate my understanding of your world/feelings/thoughts during sessions.
Supervision:
I have found supervision vital, sustaining and challenging and I hope to support supervisees to explore their work in a trusting and open way. I have faced and overcome challenges in my career and jobs as a dyslexic person which I think will be very helpful in supporting others dealing with these issues directly and indirectly.
I see supervision as a expansive space where we try to look at your client work from every angle and also you as a Therapist within this.
