The Person Centred Approach to therapy is a powerful process aimed at supporting growth and recovery in individuals. This workshop is aimed at exploring the complex theory base underpinning the person centred approach and will draw on Rogers' research along with more recent research and development.

This workshop is ideal for person centred practitioners who would like to revisit person centred theory along with practitioners of other modalities who would like a better understanding of this rich way of working.

Areas covered include:-

  • Rogers' theory of personality development

  • Therapeutic conditions and why they are effective

  • The question of necessity and sufficiency

  • Understanding psychopathology through a person centred lens

  • What is meant by non-directivity

  • The place of tools and techniques working a person centred way

  • Configurations of self

  • Experiential therapy
