Undertaking an Inner Child Workshop can be a very intense experience, so this is not for the faint hearted.
The workshop will raise awareness of how clients may be able to tap into childhood experiences in order to understand how they developed into the adults that they have become. Delegates may be more able to understand personal links between themselves as children in the past and how they are now in the present.
A guided meditation will be shared as a tool to raise awareness of how past events or past relationships in childhood may link with present interpersonal behaviour or social habits, to potentially use with some clients if appropriate.
An exercise in guided meditation and writing a personal letter from the present [Adult Self] to the Inner Child Self in the past is a key part of this Inner Child Workshop; this exercise may be used as a tool for using with clients if appropriate for healing inner hurt that has been held since childhood.
Delegates will have time and space to reflect on childhood experiences and in a group introduce themselves from at least one childhood experience. This could be done using a childhood toy / favourite item.
Participants will have an opportunity to learn who their main attachment figure was during their childhood and how this key relationship has influenced their adult relationships and way of interacting.
Delegates will also maybe learn how to empathise with their child self from an adult perspective.
Delegates will write a letter from their inner child to their adult self and vice versa; this experience will facilitate self- awareness with the aim of developing unconditional positive self-regard for participants.
