Simon

Originally from England, I am in my mid-50s and have lived in Scotland since my teens. After studying literature & philosophy and then living in community with adults with learning disability, my earlier professional experiences were in Further Education and Social Work. Since my initial counselling training in the mid-90s, I have worked in varied settings, including voluntary organisations, student counselling, occupational health, NHS primary care, and private practice. For fifteen years I worked with individuals and groups in hospice-based palliative care. In addition to counselling, I offer supervision to experienced and newer practitioners as well as students. Please visit my website or feel free to email or telephone if you would like more information.

Interests
Rooted firmly yet flexibly in the Person-Centred tradition, I aim to respond to each individual and tailor my approach accordingly. I am interested in relational, spiritual, and existential perspectives on therapeutic work. I aspire to respect, welcome, and celebrate difference and diversity. I have a particular interest in issues relating to death, dying, and bereavement and how these can touch on, and be affected by, every facet of our human experience.
