Details
In these trying times, I am happy to run counselling sessions online or by telephone.

Sometimes we can go around in circles trying to figure out what to do and it feels like out head will explode. This causes us anxiety, sadness, frustration and can lead to unhealthy coping mechanisms. Well-meaning family and friends give us their tuppence-worth on what they think we 'should' do, and then we feel the pressure mounting. Talking to a counsellor is an option you might consider.

I can offer a safe, warm, non-judgemental, open and confidential space for you to explore what is troubling you. I work in the way that best suits you; we can just chat, we can explore with creative intervention or we can work with worksheets. I am open to exploring what is the best and most effective way to bring about change and a different perspective to my client’s problems.

I am passionate about counselling and the wonderfully amazing way it facilitates change in people’s lives. I experienced this first hand many years ago when my life as I knew it was changed for good. Counselling is not a quick fix and can involve work and painful growing and stretching, but sticking with it and trusting the process, is worth it. I am living proof of this.

My previous career was in business management. However, since qualifying as a counsellor, I have worked on a voluntary basis as well as running my own private practice. In addition to this, I run my own training organisation (www.greenwoodevents.co.uk) aimed at offering affordable Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops for counsellors. This enables me to regularly receive CPD which helps me to expand my practice and equips me to work in creative and different ways to help my clients. It also means I keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the field of counselling. I also previously worked as Practice Manager for a counselling charity in Falkirk.

If what is bothering you is not listed here, but you are wondering if I can help, please do not hesitate to get in touch to arrange an informal chat. I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling. (BACP is a membership organisation and a registered charity that sets standards for therapeutic practice and provides information for therapists, clients of therapy, and the general public).
