Practice

Details
I work online or through the telephone as a person-centred counsellor, supervisor and trainer in my private practice near Brechin as well as with a number of organisations. I support people with a wide variety of issues such as depression, bereavement, trauma, boarding school survival and childhood sexual abuse. I work with adults and young people.
I currently facilitate training with Persona Development and Training and have previously worked on diplomas at the University of Aberdeen and the UHI. Until recently I was the Coordinator for the undergraduate counselling courses at the University of Aberdeen.
I offer workshops on topics such as creative supervision, the healing power of nature, working with dissociation and use of Polyvagal-informed exercises to build a safe therapeutic relationship. I have also developed workshops for school staff to build more effective listening skills.
I qualified as a supervisor in 2013 and supervise qualified and trainee counsellors. I have also facilitated group supervision.
I have had several articles published exploring creative ways of working and thinking around the person-centred approach.
