Hello! May I introduce myself as a counsellor specialising in relationship and couple work.

I am a long standing practitioner with experience of a wide range of client issues and have also managed the service of a major counselling agency for three years.

I am generally found to be warm and welcoming and offer a free initial session without obligation.

I originally trained with Couple Counselling Scotland and then went on to undertake a Diploma in counselling and psychotherapy.

I have extensive experience of individual work and although still available for this, am now increasingly concentrating on couple work.

I should point out that not all couple work is necessarily just about recovery from major relationship difficulty - although this is often the initial requirement. Frequently the work involves couples finding their way back to each other in order to recover something in the relationship which they have lost along the way. Sometimes, there may be no obvious significant problems but one or both partners feel something is 'wrong'. Sometimes the couple simply want to develop and build-on the positives they already have.

Please feel free to get in touch if you think I might be able to help and you would like to discuss your situation

I have been a qualified nurse for 20 years, working mainly in sexual health, primarily as a health adviser.

My interest in counselling and how it could help people started when I was an associate nurse working at an AIDS hospice in London.

This led me to undertake a professional qualification in counselling in 1998, gaining a Diploma in Counselling in 2001 and a Masters in Science in Counselling in 2012 from the University of Strathclyde.

I have been a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) since 1998, gaining accreditation as a Registered Counsellor in 2005.

As my career as a counsellor has progressed, I have become increasingly interested in the areas of spirituality and sexuality.

I have worked as a clinical supervisor with nurses since 2005 and qualified as a counselling supervisor in 2007.

In 2014 I completed training in Clinical Hypnotherapy working with nail biting, performance anxiety, simple phobia, simple weight control, smoking and stress management.

Recently I trained in Critical Incident Stress Management Training.
