I am a Senior Accredited Counsellor with BACP and have over 18 years of experience of working with a variety of different client groups, as well as different contexts (including GP practice, workplace counselling and addiction counselling). I originally studied languages and then worked in Marketing & Advertising before retraining as a counsellor at Strathclyde in 1998.

My core model is person centred, but over the years, I have picked up a variety of techniques and ways of working from other models (ie Family Systems Therapy and CBT), which I can integrate as and when appropriate and according to the needs and preferences of each individual client. I have a particular interest in working with clients with Aspergers and other forms of ASD, as well as trauma, particularly if caused by war or displacement.

Hello ,I believe that I am a warm and caring person and I enjoy working with people very much. I am wondering if there is any way in which I can help you with the problems that you are currently experiencing in your life. We all have problems and we all need support. Are you supportive to your self or do you think you just " need to pull yourself together and get on with it"?

I have worked with people with depression, anxiety, stress, low self esteem, self loathing etc and I am also particularly interested in people presenting with relational and connection difficulties. People who do not feel welcome in this world and who feel alienated and isolated.

I have worked in the NHS for many years as a Nurse Practitioner and have a good understanding of the impact that health issues have on each persons quality of life. I have also worked in the clinical area with people who had cancer and I currently volunteer with Cancer support Scotland. I have also had the privilege to work with people who had problems with their heart and lungs and who faced major surgery as a consequence of this. I know the impact this can have on the person and also the members of the family (carers). So many difficult situations for the people involved.

If you feel you would like to have a chat please feel free to get in touch.

I have availability in a confidential space in my home. It is completely secluded and looks out on to the back garden. Parking is readily available. I also have access to a lovely room in Paisley town centre if preferred and there is some free parking here. There is also wheelchair access at this site only. I also have access to another room in the West end of Glasgow near Charing cross and just off woodlands road.

As a person centred relational counsellor, registered and accredited with the BACP, I aim to offer clients a safe and consistent space and facilitate the exploration of issues and concerns within a relationship of trust. Within this working relationship, clients can be heard without judgement, clearer understanding can be gained, options of developing strategies and problem solving can be explored and clients can bring about changes and life choices that feel right for them and at their own pace. I have experience in working within the NHS; voluntary agencies; employment assistance providers; agencies offering swift access to counselling/psychotherapy as well as in private practice. I also offer counselling supervision to counsellors/psychotherapists and other practitioners/health care workers. I am currently based in Largs, North Ayrshire and conveniently located within the town centre close to road, rail and bus links.

I am a BACP Accredited and Registered counsellor/psychotherapist. I am also a COSCA trained and qualified counselling supervisor and work with trainees and trained counsellors. Alongside my counselling skills teaching, I work solely in private practice, working with people on a range of issues (as shown in the services section). I work on a short term basis or a long term basis on a range of issues, and with couples and individuals. Part of my experience includes working with people who do or may identify as LGB and/or TQ people. I am also EMDR qualified. For 12 years I have worked in the field of abuse, where I have managed a project and worked with adults who experienced any form of abuse whilst in a formal care setting. I have also worked in other settings with people who experienced sexual abuse as a child and I have experience of setting up a service and working with young people on a range of issues.
