I work from home which is within easy access of the Edinburgh by-pass. There is ample free parking.

My goal is to simply provide a welcoming and supportive space for clients to explore whatever issues they need to, in their own time, and without judgement.

I am open to an exploratory meeting, or discussion by phone, without obligation or payment.

I have been a qualified nurse for 20 years, working mainly in sexual health, primarily as a health adviser.

My interest in counselling and how it could help people started when I was an associate nurse working at an AIDS hospice in London.

This led me to undertake a professional qualification in counselling in 1998, gaining a Diploma in Counselling in 2001 and a Masters in Science in Counselling in 2012 from the University of Strathclyde.

I have been a member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) since 1998, gaining accreditation as a Registered Counsellor in 2005.

As my career as a counsellor has progressed, I have become increasingly interested in the areas of spirituality and sexuality.

I have worked as a clinical supervisor with nurses since 2005 and qualified as a counselling supervisor in 2007.

In 2014 I completed training in Clinical Hypnotherapy working with nail biting, performance anxiety, simple phobia, simple weight control, smoking and stress management.

Recently I trained in Critical Incident Stress Management Training.

I am a person centred counsellor and whole heartedly believe in the effectiveness of counselling. I have experience in the voluntary and private sector and my background has been working in the NHS. I enjoy journeying with people as they explore their circumstances and gain insight and understanding which helps to take them forward from their present place.

Prior to becoming a counsellor I worked as an artist, in restaurants and in charity administration/fundraising. I worked for 10 years as a counsellor in several voluntary sector organisations, and then for several years in a University student counselling service as well as maintaining a small private practice.

In May 2009 I completed a diploma in person centred supervision at Temenos in Sheffield. Since then I have supervised both trainee and experienced counsellors. I offer clinical and academic supervision as well as consultancy for practitioners within other disciplines.

In February 2013 I returned to full time private practice expanding both my client and supervision work. I also work as a group and individual supervisor, and as a personal tutor for University of Edinburgh School of Counseling & Psychotherapy.
